Fifty-five years young, eldest of 7, father of 7, happily married 25 years, devout Catholic, lover of Irish culture particularly the music that was born out of 700 year of religious persecution (what we would call today ethinic cleansing in Ireland) at the hands of the Crown. Much of this history has remained unspoken in the United States which at heart is a protestant country. Make no mistake--I love the US but much has changed since the immigrant waves triggered by the Famine. I play in an Irish band alternating from the tin whistle, to vocals, to the bodhran, and back. Works up a real thirst in a man.
